Below are just a few pointers
that highlight the fact that switching to natural gas is a beneficial option
for users of diesel or petrol:
Lower Fuel Costs & Vehicle Excise
Duty
You will save money on fuel. At todays prices natural
gas is up to 30% lower than diesel. You will also save money on road tax. Rates
are in the region of £500 lower for low emission vehicles.
Exemption From Congestion Charging
Cleaner burning ngvs
are exempt from the London congestion charging. Low Emissions relative to
Diesel Particulates (PM10), Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), Benzene & Sulphur,
Non-Methane (Reactive) Hydrocarbons and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) are all reduced
when compared to diesel.
Noise Reduction
Compared to
diesel engines NGVs make half the noise of ordinary diesel engined vehicles.
This means that for some companies, overnight deliveries to urban centres and
other noise sensitive locations can be implemented. The benefits
Less
traffic, less congestion, and a smoother operation.
LCNG - Liquefied
Compressed Natural Gas
LNG which is delivered by road tanker in a
liquid form can be pressurised and vaporised to give LCNG. This new technology
means that LNG refuelling stations have the ability to dispense two fuels - LNG
& CNG - offering a variety of supply options to fleet operators.
Operational benefits of LNG
As suppliers of both fuels
we are often asked for impartial advice on which fuel is the better, LNG or
CNG. Our reply is a measured one. We believe it important to understand the
physical properties of each fuel. When this is understood you can understand
the pros and cons of each fuel. To find out more click
